Your region

… what are you doing for a better world?

‚For a Better World‘ – Your region defines its own certificate

A change can only be successfully designed if the region (district, municipality, etc.) informs, participates and mobilizes its own population and all regional actors (companies, organizations, administrations, associations, schools, etc.). The 'For a Better World Score' can make a decisive contribution to all goals.

Mobilize the population & actors: Reward and strengthen!

The goal is to initiate a sustainability movement in the region. This is done as part of a one- or multi-year campaign, which can basically be carried out independently by the region. By awarding an additional, region-specific label, all those who are already doing something will be rewarded.

Private individuals will be proud of the label and "wear" it to the outside world - e.g. on T-shirts, bags or via social media. The same applies, for example, to schools and associations. Companies, organizations and administrations will use the label for advertising purposes, e.g. via social media, on the website, on table stands, in the Schaufester or on other advertising spaces and carriers.

Everyone who has achieved a minimum score will receive the label. In order to obtain the highest possible acceptance, a jury consisting of regional representatives and young people (the proportion should be at least 50%) determines the minimum score for the different areas: from private individuals & families to companies, administrations, schools and events. The label will be omnipresent and therefore on everyone's lips.

The label is free of charge for the population and the regional actors. As with the score, the label is automatically made available in digital form for distribution via social media and for publication on your own website. In addition, a printable file is available, which can be used, for example, for table stands in gastro areas, in the shop window or on other advertising media for advertising purposes. But private individuals can also use this opportunity to upgrade, for example, discarded T-shirts or bags with the label (e.g. via homemade ironing stickers).

An annual fee of 9,500 EUR (including VAT) is charged for the establishment and issue of the label. Technical support is included. The regions can freely select the duration of the action or extend it annually.

On request, we also offer the regions an accompaniment of the campaign, which may include the following activities:

The average cost of our accompaniment (including setup and issue of the label) amount to approx. EUR 25,000 per campaign year. We are also happy to support the acquisition of funding, e.g. through the "LEADER" funding measures for rural development.

Sustainability reporting: Informing the population & stakeholders

Through the above-mentioned one- or multi-year campaign, the regions receive valuable information and data free of charge for sustainability reporting in anonymous form. And to the different sustainability areas and from different stakeholder groups (from private individuals & families to companies, administrations, schools to events). Optionally, further surveys can be carried out using the 'For a Better World Score' in order to obtain additional, representative values in a targeted manner. We are happy to support the regions in preparing this and other existing data and information for sustainability reporting and also in building the bridge to possible accounting standards such as BRISKO.

Special feature: Via a simulation model (quantitative cause-effect model), the temporal developments can be predicted, various "what-if scenarios" can be carried out and the most effective action starting points can be determined. This not only gives the regions a dynamic sustainability report, but also a well-founded and lasting decision-making basis for politics.

Actor, citizen and youth participation

The above-mentioned sustainability reporting points out weaknesses and provides valuable information on effective starting points for the more sustainable design of the region. On this basis, actor, citizen and youth participation processes can be carried out in a goal-oriented manner. So we are working together on the right topics (with the greatest need for action) and the right areas of action (with the greatest impact).

Special feature: The joint development of the concrete measures is not detached from the previous decision-making basis in the sense of a "wish-you-what" approach (creativity techniques such as metaplan, brainstroming, etc.). Rather, systemic, directly on the above-mentioned Cause-effect model continued to work. By mapping the relevant dependencies / relationships, risks can also be determined, but also the most effective measures. The video "Qualitative cause-effect modeling” shows how this works. The results of the participation processes are thus well-founded, comprehensible and a direct part of the above-mentioned Sustainability reporting and thus also the permanent decision-making basis for politics.
